About Our Services

Every year, tens of thousands of people of every religion and ethnicity come to Catholic Charities for assistance. Our programs provide high-quality care while respecting confidentiality and individual dignity.

This work is an active expression of our faith and is guided by Catholic Social Teaching. It is our hope that by sharing some of those basic principles that friends and colleagues will gain a greater understanding of what drives us and will be inspired and strengthened in their own work as well. If you do not find a service that can help you, please call our Central Intake & Referral line (CIR), at (516) 733-7045

By calling CIR, someone in need can speak with a Catholic Charities staff person who will assess his or her needs, provide information about available assistance, and refer the caller to those services. CIR staff can provide information about public benefits, as well as services through Catholic Charities programs, Catholic parishes, and other human services organizations.
